A WORLD ALL ITS OWN The Wonderful World of Hyundai at the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show
Date: August 19, 2010
World Trade Center Manila, August 19, 2010 — Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the authorized distributor of Hyundai automobiles in the Philippines, makes an audacious arrival at the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) by bringing in a world of breakthrough, fuel-efficient, and eco-friendly Innovations for Humanity. Titled “The Wonderful World of Hyundai,” the exhibit of HARI at this year’s PIMS brings to fore Hyundai’s pursuit of environmental leadership through technologies that push frontiers in mobility and an eco-driven approach to responsible automaking.
In this eco-environmental motoring campaign, HARI will serve as an ambassador of Hyundai, translating its vision of the future where cars, people, and the planet can coexist in a single and thriving biosphere. It will speak for a future where cars subsist interdependently with nature and sustain balance between humans and the elements of the environment. It will also share the possibility of achieving environmental equilibrium amidst modern advancements through eco-friendly research facilities and zero-waste manufacturing headquarters. But more than anything else, it aims to turn Hyundai’s vision into reality by actively inviting the motoring public to participate by first educating them on what can be done for the future, not only for their sake, but also for the next generations to come.
Engaging the Filipino motoring community further, Hyundai not only showcases its best-of-breed automobiles, but invites them to enter an entirely different dimension that boasts of a majestic environment, capturing the beauty of nature and technology in one awe-inspiring space. Taking another bold step further in presenting its roster of class-leading vehicles, Hyundai launches its first-ever 3D concept show at the PIMS and the country’s first real augmented reality (AR) and 3D show complete with 3D cyan glasses, evoking a hi-tech, 3D-theater ambience and experience. Complimenting this magnificent digital environment is the grand ensemble of performers that will grace Hyundai’s wonderful world: prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde and Ballet Manila, young singing sensation Charlie Green, and world-class singer Lea Salonga, with soul-stirring music from the Filharmonica, conducted by no less than maestro Gerard Salonga.
Further amplifying The Wonderful World of Hyundai, the country’s Top 3 automotive brand brings in its sci-fi and space-inspired concept car, the ix-Metro Hybrid Electric Crossover Utility Vehicle, symbolizing Hyundai’s infinite passion to explore the possibilities of advancing mobility. As Hyundai’s fifth concept car for the Hyundai Namyang Design (HND) series, the ix-Metro is a stunning resemblance of an extraterrestrial life form protected by a compact, robotic shell-armor and technology-infused survival instincts.
Glancing at its exterior profile alone, one could easily distinguish the triangular motif applied to its lighting elements, such as the ice-blue LED headlights and fang-shaped foglamps that interplay with gold outlines on the front grille and optic clusters at the rear profile.
Performance-wise, the ix-Metro is designed with an eco-friendly, hybridized, petrol engine that yields a maximum 92kW @ an impressive 6000rpm and a peak torque of 16.0kg-m @ a 1750-4500rpm range despite its 1-liter displacement. The inline, three cylinders, where the pistons travel, are designed for fuel-resource efficiency, while the Dual CVVT or Continuously Variable Valve Timing, coupled with turbocharging and direct-injection capabilities, boosts the ix-Metro’s energy output.
Aside from the ix-Metro, Hyundai brandishes its other next-generation people-movers: the all-new Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, Genesis Coupe, and Grand Starex Limousine—each one a class all its own, bringing in more excitement and dynamism to the Filipinos’ motoring lifestyle.
Where many find a planet riddled with crises and environmental degradation, Hyundai sees a bright future filled with endless possibilities. Catch The Wonderful World of Hyundai at the World Trade Center Manila from August 19-22, 2010 and see for yourself a different perspective about automotive technology you have never seen before.
Driving change for a greener tomorrow
Hyundai, now at an even bolder position to becoming the most fuel-efficient, eco-responsible automaker in the planet today, invigorates its network of distributors and dealerships around the world by innovating global strategies that promote sustainability, and the preservation of natural resources.
One of these many eco-driven initiatives is Hyundai’s Blue DriveTM, an initiative which brings a host of new eco-friendly technologies and models to the global market. Through its Blue Drive initiatives, Hyundai envisions the realization of sustainable mobility with zero emissions vehicles which will be powered by renewable energy. These are coupled with Hyundai’s clean manufacturing and efforts to minimize waste and CO2 emissions at the factory level.
Equally important, at the other end of the cycle, Hyundai is extending recycling technology for end-of-life vehicles by which Hyundai demonstrates its increasing responsibility for maximizing the recyclable content of its vehicles.
With Hyundai’s Blue Drive efforts, hand-in-hand with its advocacy for optimized fuel-efficiency through smart vehicle choices and responsible motoring, there’s newfound hope for a sustainable future—a future that celebrates both the green and blue of a truly wonderful world.
In the Philippines, Hyundai Asia Resources, Incorporated (HARI), the exclusive and authorized provider of Hyundai innovations in the country, had already set its pace in challenging the ongoing environmental crises by dedicating all its local efforts to support Hyundai’s campaigns that promote environmental awareness. And working synergistically with its dealers nationwide, HARI actively invites the motoring public to support Hyundai’s overall plans and visions for the future of mobility and its eco-driven responsibilities to keeping the sustainability of the planet and its people.
